Spitalfields city farm Fundraising Plan

Spitalfields city farm Fundraising.
Purpose: to raise money for the farm in order for them to build a good shelter for the animals

Target audience:

Ø  Primary school students age between 5-10 and their parents (invitation only).
Ø  Animal lovers.
Ø  Explorers (people who like to find out new adventures or simply like to explore what it’s like in a farm).
Ø  Or any people who would like to help.

Marketing:
We are going to use segmentation in order to get the best out of our marketing research so some of the important segmentation we are going to focus into is demographically as well as characteristic and geographically  the reason behind this is that we can get the best out of the marketing if we target the right area which has the utmost population we need to think of places where there is more likely to find parents and children the farm is based in Liverpool street where there are busy working people so we will unlikely to find people who may be interested in the event but then there are other places to the area which has primary schools especially surrounding the farm.

The plans to carry out our marketing is to do questionnaires and each member of the going to different areas so that we get our potential interesters and right audience, as well as to go to the farm and get the right audience out of it and also consider it as a way of promoting the event.

Promotional mix:

We are going to use a leaflet as it’s an easy and effective way of promoting an event because it is both an eye catcher and tackle the job that we want. Leaflets usually is obvious enough and effective ones stand out and keep the customer’s attention because of its features of bright colors or a picture to grab the customer’s eye.

Finance: we are not putting any money from our pockets in to the project but are hoping to gain some money for the project in order to build for our loving animals.

Promotional / advertisement: Abdiaziz will be responsible for this

Manager: yusheng is going to manage the team.

Marketing: Abdiaziz and the whole team will be responsible for the marketing of this project.

Administration/ external communication: Tunde will be responsible in carrying out these tasks.

P 1-2 of Unit 19

At the end of year one business level 3, we will be doing a project work in team of 5 people maximum within the tutor group.  We will be focus on a project joins this summer.  This projects it to start an event at Spitalfields city farm. The teacher managed to help use to team up and put each people in different team.  In our team we have Yusheng, Steven, Tunde, Abdi and Lloyd.

P1

In this assignment I will describe different types of team and the benefits of teams for two organisations.

The first organisation is a team made by business course student. I am one of the team members. It is a team that focus on a project joins this summer.  This projects it to start an event at Spitalfields city farm. We decided to do a charity which is to raise money for the farm animal. There are five people in our team and each person is good at different area. . Each member in the team has certain set of relevant skills and knowledge. When coming to the projects work, everyone gets the advantage of shared knowledge and experience. It can make the work easier, if a person work alone on a project, the person may struggle with some aspects of it because of the limited experience and knowledge. When we doing the Spitalfields city farm project work, we always pair up to do different task.  For example I am good with giving out ideas and planning things, but as my English is not as good as Steven so every time I’ve finished something, he will check my grammar and spelling to make sure it`s all make sense .

Second organisation is a restaurant call Zen garden. Zen garden is a Chinese buffet restaurant in Milton Keynes, it provide great food with decent prices so this restaurant is really popular at local area. This company it is in private sector. There are different types of team within the company such as the management team and front staff team.

Having all kind of support is other benefits of teams. Working individually sometime creates a sense of isolation and makes people feel like there is no one else behind them. The support of the team environment helps people increase productivity and become more motivated at work. I am part of the employees in Zen Garden. The front staff team stay together because we trust each other, if there is problem. We all know what to say and what to do.  For example, when a table has finished, by observe, we will know what to do next such as one person clear the table, another person set the table and one person sweep the floor.

As we shared experience and knowledge within an organization, different roles are responsible for different people. The management team use their management knowledge to measure and calculi. Come out with certain plan to let staff follow to avoid risk and problem. The front staff team will use their experience toward different customer and follow the role which given by the management team to provide the best service.
A company have teams which have good quality and skills is necessary, for our college project team we sick together make sure all the work are done and ready for the event. For Zen garden, all the team sick together working toward their goals which to get more customer and make more profit.  Good quality team can benefit the organization and provide better quality work. It will definitely help the organization more successful.

P2

In this assignment I will explain how to build cohesive teams that perform well by discuss the factors that help to make cohesive teams and I will also include Meredith Belbin theory and how personalities can affect cohesion in teams.

A cohesive team made up of different people in terms of qualities and also made up of different people in terms of skills. A cohesive team stick together they know how to communicate and share the experiences.

There are lots of factors that help to make a cohesive team such as establish a mission, communicate effectively, giving feedback and celebrate success.

Establish a mission

Make the goals of the group and how to accomplish those goals clearly to the team members are very important. This helps the team members to focus on specific target.

Communicate effectively

A cohesive team must have a good communication within the group.  In a cohesive team, make sure all message are constructed can help team member clearly understand the team`s instructions and goals.

Giving feedback

Giving feedback when you doing the project and after a project is complete. Explain what worked well, what did not and the results of their project. Constructive feedback will make for a good cohesive team.

Celebrate success

After the project successfully finish. It is important to recognize the team member. Make sure the group knows you appreciate their work and thank them.

Dr Meredith Belbin

A team is not a bunch of people with job titles, but a congregation of individuals, each of whom has a role which is understood by other members. Members of a team seek out certain roles and they perform most effectively in the ones that are most natural to them.

Dr. R. M. Belbin

There are three types of people within a team, people who good at thinking, people who good at doing things and who good at dealing with peoples.

People who good at thinking within a team, they could be the monitor evaluator, plant and specialist. Plants could be unorthodox or forgetful. Monitor evaluators could be overly critical and slow moving and specialist may have a tendency to focus narrowly on their own subject of choice.

People who good at action within a team, they could be implementer, shaper and completer finisher. Implementer might be slow to relinquish their plans in favour of positive changes. Shaper could rick becoming aggressive and bad humoured in their attempts to get things done and completer fisher could be accused of taking their perfectionism to the extremes.

Within a team, the person who good at dealing with people, they could be co-ordinator, resource investigator or team worker. Co-coordinator might over delegate leaving themselves little work to do. Resource investigators might forget to follow up on a lead and team worker might just become indecisive when unpopular decisions need to be made.
http://www.belbin.com/rte.asp?id=8  reference for all the information above,
In business having cohesive teams it is very important. As they come together to accomplish shared goals despite differences in work methods, communications and skill level. Cohesive teams make sure people feel they have someone always at behind and to back them up so people can focus on the working they doing rather than worry about something else, therefore cohesive teams is necessary for a successful business.
